In cloud computing, where open environments are used to store data and distribute resources, security has become the primary barrier to developing cloud environments. Despite the efficiency and promise of cloud computing, numerous data security issues persist because users do not have physical access to their data. A hybrid encryption technique is proposed to ensure data security by combining the RSA (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman) and AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) algorithms to address these concerns. The methodology involves byte encoding of the input text, followed by encryption using RSA and AES algorithms, resulting in a hybrid combined cipher text. The encrypted text is then decrypted using both algorithms to retrieve the original data. This technique is implemented on a cloud platform to leverage its computational resources and scalability. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated based on throughput and various other prominent parameters. The results demonstrate the efficiency of the hybrid encryption approach in enhancing data security in cloud environments.
